It occurred to me (after a wonderful e-mail from one of my readers) that I hadn’t updated anyone in a while on what I’m working on, or what my publication plans are for the remainder of 2017.
Right up front, I will admit my plans for the first half of 2017 have failed spectacularly; it’s simply taken me much longer to complete the planned projects than I’d anticipated. There are lots of reasons for this (and none of them at all earth-shattering) but the bottom line is: I’ve had to pare back publication plans to more accurately reflect, well, reality:)
It happens, but I don’t like making any of you wait longer for new stuff from me. So, sorry for that.
For the 2 or 3 of you who might actually still be interested (thank you, btw), here is what things are looking like right now. Yes, this is always subject to change, of course, but this is my best guess for what’s on tap…
Prequel (of sorts) for Taking The Human
This novel will tell the story of how Admiral Kosha acquired and trained his luscious slave girl, Rose (whom we met toward the end of Taking The Human). Significant pet play themes, sex slavery, sadomasochism, forced exhibitionism, and (serious) humiliation in this one. Her story hasn’t been an easy tale to write thus far, as it’s mostly non-con, but I’ve still enjoyed it. I hope you will too!
As soon as I get time to get the cover ordered, I’m going to probably have this up on pre-order around the beginning of June at Apple, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo (maybe Google Play too, if they can make their preorder system a little more reliable). Sorry, no Amazon preorder with this one:/
Target for Publication: June/July
Valley of Surrender – Book IV
I’ve been wanting to write this one for a while now, but have held off mainly because the story kept getting bigger and more complex. It’s become so unwieldy that what I’d originally envisioned as one book became … two.
This novel relates the events immediately following the close of Falon’s Captivity, and serves to both deepen the history of White Valley and hint at the darker, more sinister forces that may be at work there. There’s a better than even chance it’s going to be more of a thriller than the previous books in the series, but if so it’s probably going to end up a twisted psycho-sexual thriller. Hard to tell how these things shake out, in the end, but you can be sure that whatever it turns out to be … it’s gonna be hot:)
A preorder should be going up for this one too, probably in later June or July. Again, sorry Kindle loyalists, no preorder for this book either…
Target for Publication: July/Aug
Projects likely to be slotted in sometime in later 2017:
Book II in The Chronicles of Muurland — Long suffering fans of this series will finally have a new installment to devour. Significantly expands the scope of the story begun in The Fall of Lady Westwood, and introduces another raft of intriguing (and often “morally compromised”) characters. This book is even more depraved than the first one, so if you enjoyed Book I, you’ll be into this one too <evil grin>.
Stand-alone Military SF Consensual Non Consent — This is a genre smash-up, and in its very earliest stages — and I don’t even have a title for it yet — but I do intend on publishing it. It’s angsty (and really, really dirty) Master/slave that, at times, confronts some rather uncomfortable themes. The H and h are fascinating to me, and they are the first couple where it felt like they were dictating the story to me rather than me just making it up as I went along. I know, I know, that’s clichéd as fuck “writer talk,” but in this case, it’s 100% true. It’s been burning a hole in my mind to write for over a year now, and I’m finally going to get it done in 2017… I hope.
Other projects percolating beyond the 2017 schedule:
Valley of Surrender Interludes — Intended to be quasi-linked standalones in the Valley of Surrender series, these are part of a potentially much larger multi-year experiment I’m kicking around which will likely feature significantly different content (aimed more squarely at dirty erotica). Yes, these would still be relationship based and have romance in them … but some of them might not have an HFN/HEA. These stories are ones that I don’t feel can be properly told within the constraints of the erotic romance genre, so this will be a chance to stretch my limits a little both in terms of content and theme/style. You know I’m all about stretching limits 🙂
The first few titles in this experiment will follow the stories of several of the couples/threesomes/tag-teams that were introduced in Lacey’s Surrender and Falon’s Captivity. One or two of these will explore themes/tropes/kinks that I’ve never written before. (Honestly, I’m a little nervous about a couple of these, but no guts, no glory.) These titles may also be distributed in new ways, though the precise nature of the delivery method is still being mulled over.
Follow-up to A Message of Love — This is a quiet little project that’s a sequel to my only paranormal title (and no, this isn’t turning into some large series either; this will wrap up as a duology). I love the story, and I’m going to write it. Soon.
Valley of Surrender – Book V — This last book may wrap up the Valley of Surrender series (not sure on that yet), but there are more “stand-alone” books planned for that setting — some of which are really, really dirty. Like maybe the smuttiest, darkest shit I’ve ever written. I’m honestly not sure I have the balls to tell some of these stories, but I’ll give it my best shot:)
The final volume in the Dominion Trust series will be sometime in 2018, but like Valley of Surrender, the close of the series doesn’t mean the characters will never be heard from again. There will likely be future “stand-alone” novels/stories in that world in the future.
I really want to get working on the sequel to What She’s Looking For, but it’s been back-burnered to make room for other, less involved, projects. There are actually two sequels to WSLF, and they will get written … I just don’t know when yet.
I’ll be doing another F/m title, probably sometime in 2018. I liked writing Quinton’s Crucible more than I’d anticipated (in spite of the fact it left me emotionally hollowed out while writing it), and I think I’d like to take another swing at that particular (IMHO, underserved) sub-genre.
With a few notable exceptions, the current F/m selection in erotic romance is noticeably thin on novel-length books that seem to actually understand either male submissives or their beloved Dommes (and that include content that they actually find, well, hot).
As with Quinton — and especially with this new planned novel — I’m trying to change that, and give lovers of the F/m dynamic the same respect readers of M/f currently enjoy. There will be no Dommes who suddenly decide they’re submissives 3/4 of the way through the book here, folks:)
The story I have in mind follows an already married couple … and it’s probably even more intense than Quinton’s story turned out to be.
I’m really, really excited for some further possibilities that may be opening up in 2018. Unfortunately, I have to be vague about these until the details firm up a bit, but as soon as they do, I’ll be sure to pass any new developments on to you.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me either via the Contact Trent form, or you can comment on this post. I LOVE to hear from readers, so please don’t be shy:)
Until next time.

I don’t send out chatty newsletters. I don’t waste your time. I only notify you when there is a new book or preorder to buy or read. That’s it:)
