Hi All!
I’ve been a little quiet here lately, but there’s a good reason for it. I’ve been trying to brainstorm ways of giving readers more cost effective access to my work, and determined that adding a Patreon page to my overall platform made a lot of sense.
Right now, most of my published long form work is available as e-books through all major e-book retailers, while a few novels I’ve done through other publishers are largely Amazon/Kindle Unlimited exclusive.
I realized that other options were needed for:
1) People who didn’t have the money to afford the $10/month for Kindle Unlimited, nor the funds needed to purchase books individually, and
2) Readers who, for whatever reason, didn’t like/have no access to Amazon, or other e-book retailers.
My Patreon page is something I hope bridges that gap for those readers. It’s by far the most cost effective way to access Trent Evans writing (starting at $3/month!), and it has the added benefit of having limited time exclusive content regularly posted there.
On a few other venues, I often write captions, or vignettes, or scenes, but wanted to find a way to collect that writing into one centralized place for other readers to enjoy. The $3 option allows readers to access all of that material, and it’s material that’s fairly wide-ranging, and often dirtier even than what I publish in my e-book work. If you’ve ever thought, “I wonder what Trent would do with this trope, or that kink, or that crazy fucked-up premise?” well, my Patreon page is the best place to find out:)
Future captions, vignettes, and scenes will now appear exclusively FIRST on my Patreon page, before appearing anywhere else. So, if you can’t wait to see what’s next, a $3 subscription is all you’ll need!
These new captions/vignettes will be added to my Patreon page at a clip of 4-8 new ones/month so I’m hoping readers who decide to check them out will want to stick around a while. But if not, that’s okay too:)
(For anyone wondering, never fear, I am still working on, and will publish, plenty of full-length e-books. That’s not changing at all. I am a novelist, first and foremost, and will remain so as long as people still want to read my work:)
For those of you so inclined, there is a slightly higher cost $5 option that allows you access to all of my captions, vignettes, and scenes (over 60,000 words and counting), AND also allows you to follow along with me as I post new chapters of my various novel and novella-length works-in-progress (WIP).
Some of you have asked me in the past how they could read the things I’m working on, even if it was only partials, or chapters, or scenes — the Patreon page will definitely fulfill that request!
There are over 18,000 words of WIP fiction already posted, with much more scheduled for publication in the coming weeks and months.
That’s not all, either. For paying patrons, I am also planning to post some very interesting bonus material such as:
author notes
book notes/errata
background and setting information
bonus character background
interviews, deleted scenes
Eventually, a comprehensive publication plan for my next year or two of publications will be included as well for patrons.
Lastly, for subscribers to my Patreon page, you will have the ability to directly message me whenever you’d like. I want this to be a place where people can have fun, and talk freely about the books they love (and no, that doesn’t mean it has to be just about my books!). I will answer your messages as soon as possible, and would love to hear from you!
Have requests for future books, or tropes, or genres? Questions about a character or an event or a setting in one of my books? Questions about erotic fiction writing and the publishing industry? Just send me a message:)
I’ve never done anything like this before, so I’m hoping I don’t fall flat on my face with it…
I hope my e-book readers will give my Patreon page a look, as the fiction I’m posting over there is, effectively, a significant expansion on the areas my writing usually covers, including into subjects that might not be “favored content” commercially.
I wanted to be able to do some writing where those commercial considerations (read: shackles) weren’t a factor anymore, and instead let imagination be my only guide. Some of the material on my Patreon page will surprise… and maybe even shock. Some of it just might not be for you — and that’s okay!
I’m confident though that you’ll be glad you gave it a look. As always, I’d love to hear what you think of this idea — good or bad.
Thank you so much for your support and wonderful encouragement. It means more to me than I can possibly convey.
Trent
