To those of you wondering, no, I haven’t fallen off the face of the Earth — all evidence to the contrary.
I have been writing. Quite a bit, actually. But this has been a year of transition, and adjustment, career-wise… and it looks like said adjustment is finally settled.
So, what does that mean?
First, and most importantly, it means a new novel is almost here — a dark scifi M/f erotic romance with a strong, resilient heroine, and a tortured, conflicted hero. I think you’ll love both of these characters.
It’s currently with the editor, and with a little luck, should be published within the next month.
After that, there are several more novels to come, likely in quick succession.
As I said, I have been writing. A lot;)
What I’ve also been doing is spending quite a bit of time working on material for my Patreon community, something that’s grown larger than I’d ever imagined (and for which I’m so very, very grateful).
Patreon has become sort of my “go to” for readers who want to see what I’m up to, day-to-day. There are a wider range of fiction/kinks/pairings I’ve been experimenting with over there, some of which you won’t see in my published novels. Wanting more F/f content? More intense themes? Tropes and dynamics I haven’t done before? It’s all there.
There are now over 140 new scenes, vignettes, and short stories over on the Patreon page — a significant number of them not seen anywhere else. Those shorter works now total nearly 130,000 words at the time of this blog post.
$3/month tier gets you in to see all of that.
I’m also “writing in the open” over there, in that as I draft my indie novels, I’m posting them, chapter-by-chapter, over on Patreon. There, literally, is no way to read my books earlier than that, and it affords readers and fans a way to follow along in the creative process, and give input almost in real time. Patrons get to read my new indie stuff before it goes live on any retail platform. There are more than 53,000 words (across 28 posts) from new work-in-progress novels on the page, with more added regularly.
If you’re interested in that, $5/month is all you need to get access to it.
Finally, I’m doing Patreon-exclusive (*for the first six months, post publication) novels over there as well, including my first M/f age gap BDSM novel, Rescue Conditions.
Subscribing at either the $3, or $5 tier gets you access to the Patreon-exclusive novels.
Below, is a quick list of the novels in-progress over on my Patreon page right now:
Rescue Conditions – M/f maledom age gap (older man/younger woman), spanking, BDSM – [Patreon Exclusive*]
Conquering Cori – M/f maledom age gap (older woman/ younger man), spanking, BDSM, White Valley setting. (Both the hero, Lee, and heroine, Cori, made appearances in a rather dirty scene in the novel, Lacey’s Surrender. They get their own story here!)
Captive Cargo – M/f maledom dark scifi, BDSM, Master/slave (quasi-sequel to, Submission’s Edge)
Property of the Nocturne – M/f, MfM, F/f, F/m, maledom/lezdom/femdom dark epic fantasy/paranormal, vampires, BDSM, captivity (Book #2 in The Chronicles of Muurland series; long overdue sequel to, The Fall of Lady Westwood)
The Humbled Quean – MF/f maledom/lezdom, cuckquean, married couple + “unicorn”, contemporary
There are other fun things over there as well, including:
- Maps – I have posted a rough map of Muurland over there for The Chronicles of Muurland readers to enjoy — and with more to come soon!)
- Polls – Want direct input on what Trent might write next? This is where you can get your voice heard! Patrons got to choose by popular vote what the first Patreon exclusive novel would be — and age gap won, going away. Thus, Rescue Conditions was born!
- Background/setting information – There are “gazetteer”-style entries for Muurland posted, including one about the mysterious matriarchal barbarian civilization whose home is centered deep in The Great Southern Forest, a people known only as “The Trackless.”
In the near future, there are going to be many other features, including:
Publication schedules
Vignettes
“Director’s cut” epilogues
“Too Hot for Amazon” alternate scenes

I’m so excited to see what this Patreon community has become in such a short time, and I have great hopes for what it might evolve into over the next year.
In case you’re wondering, no, I have zero plans to abandon this blog, either. It is, and will continue to be, the first place people can go to learn more about my books.
The various Silicon Valley behemoths have made it plain to see that they don’t want, or like erotic fiction on their platforms. And they have made it crystal clear their belief that they know better what readers should be reading… than the readers do.
This is not hyperbole; this is what’s actually happened, surreal though it may be. I expect that problem to get much worse before it (possibly) gets better. As a result of this, I just can’t rely on social media anymore.
I won’t be missing from social media, but my presence there will be more “outposts” than anything particularly active. I’m going to instead focus my attention (and work) on the venues where I have the best chance of reaching and engaging with what’s most important to me — readers like you!
I will be concentrating my efforts on my newsletter, my Patreon page, and my blog — in that order — for the foreseeable future.
Despite the headwinds erotic fiction writers face, and the challenging (and troubling) increase in censorship we’re now contending with, I’m excited for the future of books, and of storytelling.
Great things are still to come.
I intend to be here for a long time yet, doing what I do, in the way I want to do it.
And I hope you’ll be here, too.
