Saturday Spankings — 10/04/13

October 4, 2013 By Trent Evans

Hello all,

This week, I’m continuing with another short snippet from the upcoming full length D/s novel, The Change.

Kirsten, knowing that another session of “The Game” is slated for tonight, arrives back home to a darkened, seemingly empty house … only to find it’s not so empty after all.

* * *

She felt him watching her. She liked it, this new side to Kiehl. She moved toward the kitchen, guessing he must be hiding on the other side of the wall.

“Stay there. Don’t move until I tell you to.”

Her pussy spasmed at his voice. It was the voice she only heard in the depths of passion, the voice she felt wash over her in the heated darkness of their bedroom as they made love.

“Oh … okay.” She didn’t know what to do with her hands, so she crossed her arms over her chest.

“Don’t do that. Drop your arms.”

“Why?” Kiehl where are you? What’s going on?”

 * * *

I would’ve posted more, but the Sat Spanks rules are rather … strict:)

Please make sure you click on the links below to visit all the other great entries in this week’s hop! Until next week!

New Release — “What She’s Looking For” — Trent Evans

April 25, 2013 By Trent Evans

wslf_cover200x300

Finally, it’s here! I thought it might end me a few times, but the new book “What She’s Looking For” has been published. Per the normal release schedule, the first 90 days will be Amazon exclusive, followed by a roll-out to the other retailers.

I’ve done a few things with this one that I haven’t done before. This is my first official erotic romance, and it’s by far (at over 100K words) the longest book I’ve ever written. This is a BDSM (MFM) menage — also my first. Lastly, this will be the first book I’ve written that will (soon) have a print edition as well. I’m anticipating the print version will be done on or before May 15th (crossing my fingers). I’ll announce that too once it’s ready to roll.

The list price for this one is $5.99, but to reward followers of the blog, I’ve temporarily discounted the book 50% down to $2.99. This discounted price will last for a week or two at most, after which it goes back up to $5.99 — so grab it while the getting is good (and feel free to tell your friends:)

Book description and purchase links below:

***

What if the very thing you crave is that which you most fear?

Ashley is a woman running from her past — and from herself. Ten years of marriage to a man who took his dominance too far has left her scared, but defiant … determined, yet desperate.

Knowing what she doesn’t want, but not knowing what she really needs, she moves West, seeking to rebuild her life, for once in control of herself. But inside she suspects it’s that control itself that’s the real problem — she doesn’t want it. Any of it.

In a beautiful resort town in central Washington, she meets two gorgeous men; the stern, dangerous Parker, and the dark, brawny Drake. Can she risk herself again, surrender to the forbidden pleasure of being subject to these men? Or is the possibility of having her heart broken yet again too much to chance?

In the arms of not one, but two, strict Dominant men, can she find the peace she’s looked for all her life? The peace she’s only found in the bonds of utter submission, the taboo pleasure of being the property of two men at once?

Or, as she learns more about these mysterious men, will she realize that it’s not only her heart at risk?

Word Count: 100,212
Page Count: approx 303 pages
Warning: This novel contains the following acts or themes:

Guest Post — New Release: Taming Emma by Natasha Knight

April 24, 2013 By Trent Evans

Today, I’d like to welcome one of my fellow authors from Romancing The Kink, the talented Natasha Knight. She’s a lot more interesting than I am, so I’ll shut up now:)

******

Hi Trent, thanks so much for having me here today. I love your blog, I love your books and as you know, I’m thrilled about working with you on Romancing The Kink.

I just want to say a few words before getting to the excerpt for Taming Emma. As I was writing this book, the idea of a man who could  give pain became so intriguing to me that I couldn’t stop thinking about it for a long time. Still haven’t really. For some reason, to me, it exemplifies complete strength or power. I don’t really understand this so well just yet, but in the writing of Luke, this aspect of things developed a little bit. I feel like I just barely scratched the surface but that’s how my mind works I suppose. Slow for a little while before diving in deep, head first.

This excerpt comes toward the end of the book when Emma’s run off after Luke’s confronted her with her past. They need each other but are struggling with their separate demons. In his scene, Luke has told Emma he wants to see her, all of her. But she knows the only way she’ll be able to allow that is if he makes her.

 Enjoy.

 Taming Emma by Natasha Knight

Emma had always been interested in exploring the world of BDSM, and given her desperate circumstances, this sounded like the perfect opportunity. One weekend of complete submission to the highest bidder among a select group of wealthy men, and her financial troubles would be over. Emma wasn’t really sure what to expect when she agreed to the deal, but one thing she definitely did not expect was Luke Roark.

The moment Luke removed the blindfold and recognized the beautiful, nearly-nude young woman standing before him as Emma Lawson, his best-friend’s little sister, he knew what he had to do. However, after buying her contract with the intention of giving her a firm lecture and taking her home, he cannot help but imagine the things he could teach her.

Emma spent many years as a teenager fantasizing about Luke, and when he is suddenly thrust into her life again she is torn between her fears and her desires, but her need to submit wins out. Emma chooses to stay and honor her contract, and she quickly finds herself on her knees before him, bare, bound, helpless, and forced to take whatever he wishes to give her… and he wishes to give her a great deal, relishing the chance to play Emma’s naked, trembling body like a finely-tuned instrument until she is blushing red and begging for more.

It is not long, though, before both Luke and Emma can feel that something much more than just physical attraction binds them together, but can they put aside their painful pasts and embrace a future together?

Excerpt:

“There’s nothing ugly or dirty in truth. Let me see you,” he said.

She searched his eyes, wanting nothing more than to give him what he wanted. She only knew one way that that would be possible. “Punish me,” she said. “Hard.”

Now it was his turn to study her. She kept her gaze level with his. This was what she wanted, what she needed. For a moment, she wasn’t sure he would give it to her but then, his expression changed. He decided and every hair on her body stood on end in response.

He straightened to his full height, his eyes a little harder now. She watched him strip off his shirt and set it aside. He moved to the large trunk against the wall, opened it and returned a few moments later, riding crop in hand.

“Stand up.”

She heard her own heartbeat while she rose slowly to her feet. He was going to give her just what she asked for. His hand tighten around the crop while she watched. Her eyes grew wide when he tapped it against his leg and when she turned her gaze to his, it took all she had not to step back.

“You’re pale,” he said, touching her face.

“You like this,” she replied, forcing herself to remain still as he brushed her hair over her shoulders.

“Very much.” He brought his lips to hers and his free hand first caressed, then pinched one of her nipples.

She made no sound but her body trembled, her mouth opening to receive him.

He didn’t pull her nearer but only kissed and she knew he was taking pleasure. This was for him, only the punishment would be for her.

“Tell me,” he whispered against her mouth, still kissing her, still holding her to him. “How many strokes before you cry, Emma?”

She made a sound, her body wanting him, wanting what he was going to give her, even as it feared the pain.

“I’m going to give you exactly what you asked for,” he said, walking her toward the bed.

“Please,” she said when she felt the iron of the footboard against her back.

“Please what?” he asked, caressing her thigh with the crop.

“Please…Master,” she said.

“Oh, you’re a good girl, Emma. You’re my good girl. Now,” he pulled back. “Turn around,” he stepped back, giving her just enough space so she could turn.

She did, placing her hands on the cool metal.

“Down you go, rest your chest on the bed, arms overhead. Good girl, that’s right. Spread your legs wide for me.”

She didn’t look back as she settled her torso on the bed and extended her arms over her head. She’d asked for this. She spread her legs wide, imagining herself spread before him, ready for him. The weight of stiff leather made her shudder when he set the crop across her back and moved around the bed. She watched him unravel the long straps that were attached to each corner of the bed and wound them around her wrists, first the right, then the left. He then tugged and adjusted their length, lifting her just a little higher so that the footboard carried most of her weight and only the tips of her toes touched ground. She closed her legs a little, adjusting to the new position, but he came behind her and before she knew it, her ankles too were bound by similar straps, spreading her wide open. When he was finished, she watched him set a large mirror on the wall just in front of the bed. He positioned it so that she could see herself completely. Meeting her eyes in the mirror, he smiled, pleased.

When he stepped behind her, she felt, for one instant, panic. She tugged at her bonds but neither those at her wrists nor those at her ankles gave. They held her firm, her body now an offering as he lifted the leather from her back.

“How many until you cry?” he asked, his eyes on her wide spread bottom.

She tugged again, his voice sounding too different. “Master!” she called, needing him back. Needing Luke.

His eyes in the mirror looked darker, aroused definitely, but also something else.

“I want to give you pain, Emma,” he whispered.

Straits Academy is on the shelves!

September 30, 2012 By Trent Evans

I’ve read this book, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. It’s an interesting blend of mystery, romance, and scorching dub-con erotica. It’s Alice at her best, in my opinion, and I am looking forward to more from her.

Please do yourself a favor and go pick it up. You will not regret it!

Best,

Trent

Trent’s Thoughts on 50 Shades of Grey

May 7, 2012 By Trent Evans

“50 Shades of Dom hatred”

I read this in a posting over on Kitty Thomas‘ blog a while back.  I think it might be a perfect summation of what the success of the 50 Shades of Grey erotic trilogy means for the BDSM community in the short term. If you haven’t read, please click on over and have a look. Well worth your time.

Ironically enough, the success of E.L. James’ series is not a black or white, good or bad thing for BDSM practitioners (I don’t really like ‘kinksters’ as a descriptor). In the short run, there are both positives and negatives, while in the long run I think it will be almost uniformly helpful to BDSM – but not for the reasons you may think. In fact, in an odd way, the success may help push BDSM back into the “underground” somewhat. I will explain why in a bit.

Here are some of the short term benefits as I see them:

  1. “normalizing” of BDSM (i.e. people will realize that a whole lot of other people are interested in this stuff)
  2. sparks discussion in an honest manner not littered with snickering and general snark (I can’t tell you what kind of damage farces such as Exit to Eden do to BDSM; luckily nodody saw that movie, so it could have been a lot worse)
  3. more people will try it or talk about it with their significant others – this is only a good thing IMO
  4. will be a boon to erotica and erotic romance writers in a general sense ( a rising tide lifts all boats)

Short term detriments:

  1. kink tourists – people will “join in” as more of a lark than any real urge to explore their sexuality
  2. people will develop an unrealistic idea of BDSM based on the novels; by all accounts the novels are at best sugar-kink and at worst vanilla with a thin kink veneer.
  3. 50 Shades “clones” pushed by publishers
  4. PC police descend on the community – you thought it was bad when SSC was used as a cudgel to keep us unruly pervs in line? Now, comes “mainstream” kink – a contradiction in terms – that we’ll have to fall in line behind (or argue against).

In the long term though, I think 50 Shades could do for BDSM fiction what Twilight or the Harry Potter trilogy did for young adult and fantasy fiction, respectively. Like those books, the literary merit of the story or authorial talent ceases to matter – it’s the activity and the conversations sparked that matter.

How long has BDSM been whispered about, snickered about, or outright ridiculed? You can still be fired for being kinky, and quite legally at that. But it is NOT legal to be fired for being gay or lesbian. Now, the 50 Shades phenomenon is getting “regular” people talking about BDSM in :::shock::: a serious manner.

Now, many of the readers will be truly shocked and/or repelled by what those of us regard as “real” BDSM. That’s OK with me; it by default restores the “forbidden” to BDSM that may have been part of its initial appeal to many of us. That being said, we do need more honesty and openness about sexuality, and even if it results in a tsunami of kink tourists, this will encourage such openness. Maybe only 5% of these tourists decide to explore more deeply, and tap into something within themselves that speaks to needs far beyond the confines of the 50 Shades storyline? Is that ultimately a good thing? Hell yes, it is.

There are many of us who consider ourselves more or less “kinky” and actually regard being different as a badge of honor. However, the success of the series shows that there is a vast cohort of people who are at least intrigued by BDSM. As Kitty Thomas has stated many times on her blog, these readers may not be as vanilla as they think they are. The suppression of  the (at one time) very popular “bodice ripper” storylines in the Romance genre by the PC police doesn’t mean readers aren’t still interested in it. That to me is the most fascinating subtext to the 50 Shades phenomenon: readers want to read this stuff – a LOT of this stuff. If they can’t get it in the more “acceptable” Romance forms, then they will get it somewhere else.

Maybe 50 Shades helps revive the “bodice ripper” in the same way self-publishing is starting to revive the moribund gothic romance genre? My guess is that it continues to benefit erotic romance (which has seen more and more successes that embrace some rather dark storylines) and to a lesser extent, erotica.  It’s way too early to tell, but more genres mean more choices. This is always a good thing for readers and authors both.

What do you think? What is your take on the 50 Shades phenomenon?
